- Berkemann Original 5-phase footbed and high-quality dual-density sole with cushioning effect
This comfortable city bootie on a sporty trainer sole combines comfort and function in a particularly stylish way. Minimalist in its visual appearance, this model cleverly hides its greatest comfort feature: stretch inserts in the forefoot and both side areas. Due to their high flexibility and the soft additional padding, these provide immediate relaxation on painful pressure and chafing points of the foot, such as those caused by hallux valgus, corns or hammer and claw toes. The clean look and further comfort are achieved by the colour-coordinated elastic band on the instep as well as the extra-wide Velcro fastener both ensure a great fit, while the Velcro fastener also makes it easy to put on and take off. The original 5-phase footbed with which all Berkemann models are equipped is based in its constructive features on the Berkemann original gymnastics sandal developed by foot orthopaedists in the 1950s for the prevention of foot misalignment. Developed over the decades and repeatedly adapted to the latest foot orthopaedic findings, the principles of action of the original 5-phase footbed have remained the same over time: the active support of the natural rolling process when walking and the passive support of the foot anatomy when standing. In addition, this footbed specially stimulates and trains the foot and calf muscles, activates the venous valve function, dampens the energy of the appearance, thus protecting the joints and thus has a positive effect on the entire musculoskeletal system. All comfortable shoe models of the Berkemann stretch line, as well as this, have practical interchangeable footbeds and are therefore particularly suitable for wearers of sports and individual insoles as well as for orthopaedic insoles. This Berkemann comfort model features a high-quality dual density sole made of two components. The TPU used for the outsole ensures rubber-like elasticity and anti-slip properties as well as high tear and abrasion resistance. At the same time, the water-driven and thus environmentally friendly PU in the midsole has a cushioning effect by absorbing impact energy. Berkemann comfort shoes are designed and developed in Germany and are also made from European materials at Berkemann's own production facilities in Hungary.
